Jennifer Kobrin
Assistant Director, Language and Literacy
Jennifer Kobrin provides professional development and technical assistance in language and literacy, with a focus on English Language Learners. She has more than eight years experience as an educator, program coordinator, and researcher. Jennifer taught English in a variety of settings, including a public elementary school in Costa Rica, adult immigrants in Harlem, and young adults at the college level. She is fluent in Spanish, and has lived in Spain, Costa Rica, and El Salvador. Jennifer received a Master’s degree in Educational Linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania, and was awarded a research fellowship with Save the Children in 2008 & 2009 to conduct an evaluation of an early childhood program in Central America. She believes acquiring a second language is a powerful tool in understanding other cultures and perspectives, and is committed to ensuring that learners of English in the United States are successful in school and beyond.
